Covid-19 has temporarily changed the way we live our lives. Many of the measures we take to manage our mental health are inaccessible to us at a time of increased anxiety and uncertainty. In times of lockdown, self-isolation, social distancing and other worries, it is vital to take care of your mental health. I am offering online counselling services via Google Meet to both new and existing clients. My services are available for a single consultation or for a course of therapy.
I work with adults and young people (13+) of all genders and social backgrounds. I am an Accredited member of the National Counselling Society and abide by their Professional and Ethical standards. My background is in education where I have worked and continue to work with students aged 13+ as well as adults. Before that, I worked as a practice manager for a specialist consultant.
I offer a range of online counselling and therapy. My approach to therapy is to work with clients in a non-prescriptive, supportive, respectful and non-judgmental environment to make sense of how you are feeling and the issues you are dealing with. I believe that every person is unique, as are their issues, and therefore I work as an Integrative counsellor/psychotherapist making use of the approach that best suits you and your circumstances.
I am offering online counselling and therapy via video call conferencing using Google meet, until further notice. With the option to either transfer to face to face sessions or continue online counselling at the end of the lockdown. There is a requirement that, during online counselling, we can speak without being overheard or interrupted.
The benefit of online video counselling with Google Meet is that we can physically see other, an important aspect of communication. Google Meet video conference counselling allows you to attend a counselling session from the safety of your own location anywhere in the UK.
Online video counselling sessions follow the same format as traditional face to face counselling sessions. The only difference is the format in which the therapy is delivered. If you are not used to video calling it may feel strange initially. I find that my clients who have not used video chat before, adjust to it very quickly.
