Counselling and Psychotherapy In Reading

Counselling in Reading
Engaging in therapy is a personal journey which can help you to see your current situation in a new light with depth and clarity. It can change old and unhelpful perspectives and feelings about yourself and your life, and ultimately help you to make positive changes.
I provide a non-judgemental and confidential space where issues can be explored. I work from a comfortable and welcoming home office creating an environment which is safe and relaxed. I also offer Skype consultations after an initial face to face consultation. If you feel you would like more information, please feel free to contact me on 07766571308 or send me an email at michelleevecounselling@btinternet.com and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
About Michelle Eve Counselling
I am a counsellor based in Reading, working with adults and young people (13+) of all genders and social backgrounds.
My approach to therapy is to work with clients in a non-prescriptive, supportive, respectful and non-judgmental environment to make sense of how you are feeling and the issues you are dealing with. I believe that every person is unique, as are their issues, and therefore I work as an Integrative counsellor / psychotherapist making use of the approach that best suits you and your circumstances.
Our sessions are designed to help you to find your inner resources, make positive changes to enrich your life and discover new ways of living. I am an Accredited member of the National Counselling Society and abide by their Professional and Ethical standards. My background is in education where I have worked and continue to work with students aged 13+ as well as adults. Before that, I worked as a practice manager for a specialist consultant.
Counselling & Psychotherapy

What is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?
Counselling and Psychotherapy are often interchangeable and may overlap. Counselling usually refers to brief treatment whereas psychotherapy focuses on working with clients for a longer period and draws from insights into emotional problems and difficulties.
How many sessions of counselling and psychotherapy will I need?
The amount of sessions differs for each person. This will be discussed at the initial consultation and reviewed at regular intervals. Some people find short-term counselling (6 – 12 sessions) helpful, whereas other people prefer a more open-ended, long-term therapeutic approach.
